In each of these four videos, Supreme Grandmaster and Hwa Rang Do founder, Dr. Joo Bang Lee, who by 1960 had already been recognized by the Korean government as the nation’s top martial artist, introduces the use of the knife and its various applications.

Chief Master Taejoon Lee offers detailed strategies, tactics, and training tips of effectively applying the knife as a defensive tool against any form of violent attack. It is first demonstrated by Master Lee and then instructed to the Fighting Styles Team. Finally, the application of the technique is analyzed and demonstrated.

An individual must first understand a weapon’s method of utilization to best defend against it, as well as develop a sense of familiarity with the weapon to apply it effectively in self-defense. Hwa Rang Do has some of the most extensive training programs with over 108 different weapons in 20 categories.

The Extreme Knife Fighting instructional video series features the strategies and application of edged weapons, and has been taught to the Special Welfare Branches of the United States Military, including Airborne/Rangers/Special Forces/UDT/SEAL/Force Recon and Delta personnel.
