The Wisdom Of Yoga – Carlos Pomeda

COMO Shambhala Urban Escape Singapore is delighted to host ‘The Wisdom of Yoga’ workshop from December 7th to 9th 2018.

Renowned teacher, Carlos Pomeda, will lead guests through this 15-hour workshop, with a series of sessions designed to deepen existing yoga practice and explore the philosophical nuances. Guests can choose to attend the whole workshop, or choose single sessions.

Sex, Love and Yoga

Sexuality occupies a very important part of our lives, yet mature discussions of its connection to yoga are often lacking. What happens to sexuality on the path of yoga? What is the role of sexual energy? How can we use sexuality as a way to revitalise body and soul, instead of depleting them?

Similarly, the topic of love is everywhere in our culture, yet often treated superficially, or as a matter of gratification. What is love? How can we fully experience the infinite ocean of love that dwells in every human heart? How can we fill our lives with love and let it grow?

These and other questions will be the focal point of our exploration. Drawing from the depths of traditional yoga sources, as well as our own modern experience, this workshop will teach how to avoid the pitfalls of jealousy, guilt and narcissism, while simultaneously nurturing fullness of the heart.

Vijnana Bhairava: Meditation

One of the greatest sources of meditation in the Kashmir Shaivism tradition is the Vijnana-bhairava Tantra, in which the Goddess plays the role of student and asks Shiva for instruction. The reply, however, does not come in the form of doctrines, but in the form of 112 methods of meditation. The message is clear: the ultimate answer to the deepest questions of life lies within.

This session will explore these meditative practices, which with contemplation, analysis and discussion, deepen and enrich your inner state. Your understanding and experience of meditation will improve, anchoring you in internal awareness. This course is ideal for those who feel too busy for a prolonged retreat but would like to experience immersion in meditation within a shorter timescale.

Attendance at both the morning and afternoon sessions is required for this course.

The Mystery of Karma and the Journey of the Soul

How does karma work? How does it shape my destiny? What lies beyond this life? What happens during death? How can I best prepare for it? How can I overcome my fear? How can I help others to make the transition?

These are some of the questions that the workshop will address, drawing from the wisdom of ancient texts such as the Katha Upanishad. This workshop will provide both knowledge and practical strategies to help guests understand the underlying forces that create our destiny.
