Learning Objectives
- Describe the different types of neck pain.
- Explain the pathophysiology including the etiology, epidemiology, and risk factors of neck pain.
- Discuss the clinical manifestations and the physical examination findings of neck pain.
- Describe and administer the osteopathic manipulative treatment approach to the management of neck pain and discuss the treatment goals of the various types of techniques.
- Identify measures to prevent the occurrence and recurrence of neck pain.
The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

Taisei Suzuki DO, MIPH Related seminars and products: 1
Taisei Suzuki, DO, MIPH studied Biology at the University of Portland in Oregon and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in International Public Health at the University of Sydney in Australia. He then worked as a humanitarian aid worker for nearly eight years with non-governmental organizations and the United Nations, stationed in various developing countries including Liberia, Sudan and Zimbabwe. Following his passion to become an osteopathic physician, he attended A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 2015. He completed his family medicine residency program with The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education’s National Family Medicine Residency Program in 2018, training at Federally Qualified Health Centers in both Washington, D.C. and Tucson, A.Z., during which he served as Chief Resident. He is board-certified with the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
Dr. Suzuki is a core faculty member for The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education’s National Family Medicine Residency Program in Washington, D.C. and an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona at Unity. He precepts the resident OMT clinic. He provides comprehensive osteopathic medical care to his patients at Parkside Health Center in Ward 7 as well as at the DC Department of Corrections.

Karen Snider, DO, FAAO, FNAOME, is a professor at A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM). Dr. Snider is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. She earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and she completed residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center. Dr. Snider has earned fellowship awards from the American Academy of Osteopathy and the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators.
