Dr. Bob Bodenhamer relates the following therapeutic conversation he had during the past month with a client suffering from anxiety. She came to him for some Christian Counseling because she struggled with anxiety over numerous things–over a heart condition (a valve problem in the aorta) and from anxiety from a lump that formed in her breast as well as from anxiety regarding her daughter’s wedding. In the following process Bob simply kept repeating the meta-stating question over and over and over–tracking her back and up where her consciousness reflexively went. He did this until he got her to a positive awareness. Once she accessed that, then all of the meta-stating thereafter took her into more and more resourceful places. Bob noted afterwards, “It worked just like I thought it would and it came right out of your Meta-State model.”
