Michael Brown, Jason Haxton – Historical Perspectives on Osteopathic Medicine: Back to School with A.T. Still

Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss, compare, and contrast what the start of the school year was like in the early days of Osteopathic Medical School to what it is today.
2. Describe what student life was like in the early days of Osteopathic Medical School.
3. Explain A.T. Still’s view on race and acceptance of minorities into medical schools in the early years of osteopathic medicine.
4. Develop an understanding and appreciation of the historical aspects of osteopathic medicine and their relationship to the practice of modern osteopathic medicine.

Accreditation Statements:
The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. MAOPS designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation.

Grievance Policy:
