Dr. Merideth Norris has been working in Maine for over 15 years. Her practice scope includes Osteopathic Family Medicine and treating substance use disorder, obesity, and pain management. She has worked in emergency departments all over Maine, as well as detox facilities, inpatient treatment environments, methadone clinics, and outpatient recovery centers. Dr. Norris is the Medical Director of Enso Recovery and has a private practice. Dr. Norris is board certified in Osteopathic Family Medicine by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Medicine, in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and in Obesity Medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
She is frequently seen in the press advocating for available resources for people with substance use disorder and drafts large amounts of testimony to the state legislation on opioid policy and treatment access. She has been interviewed as an addiction expert on both local public radio and the national Reelz network. Recently, Dr. Norris became certified as a Ringside Physician by USA Boxing and became the medical consultant for Susan Elia MacNeal, author of the Maggie Hope detective series. Dr. Norris has three children.

Dr. Thakarar is an infectious disease (ID) and addiction medicine physician with a special interest in health services research related to ID/addiction issues. She is currently an attending physician at Maine Medical Partners, an affiliated investigator at the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation in Portland, Maine, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Maine Medical Center/Tufts University School of Medicine.

Bio: Michael W. Wardrop is a 31-year veteran with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and has served as the Resident Agent in Charge (RAC) of the Portland Maine Resident Office since May 2009. As the RAC, he is responsible for maintaining oversight and control over all DEA operational and administrative matters in the State of Maine related to the enforcement of the Controlled Substances Act. RAC Wardrop currently supervises a staff of personnel in Portland and Bangor comprised of Special Agents, Task Force Officers, Intelligence Research Analysts and Support Staff. Since arriving in Maine, RAC Wardrop has aggressively strengthened interagency cooperation, maintained oversight of large complex conspiracy investigations and is the architect of Maine’s highly successful drug take back program, which created a sustainable in-state drug disposal solution. Born in Bangor, Maine and a native of Connecticut, RAC Wardrop earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Certificate in Accounting from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. RAC Wardrop is married, has three children and is an avid outdoorsman.
