There are tons of legal things you need to know for your blog and online business. But you don’t need to be overwhelmed or stressed out by scare tactics.
If you want to be sure that your blog and biz are LEGAL, this is the course for you. Written by a seasoned blogger and attorney, this is your to finish guide for the legal aspects for your blog and online business.
Make sure your blog and business are legal TODAY – for your own peace of mind and to show your readers and clients that you are a professional.
You’ve got a great idea for your new blog. Or you’ve been working on your blog for years. You have the best images, amazing content, a growing email list and have ed to make $$$ (or are thinking about making money!)
You’ve thought about it ALL. But wait… What about taxes? … Should you copyright your images? … Do you need to register for a trademark? … What if someone s stealing your work? … Do you need to include your home address in your marketing emails?
Whoa.
Yes, the legal side of things isn’t as glamorous as lots of blogging and business aspects but it’s really important. Let me repeat that – really important.
Not only do you want to be sure that your content and business are both legally protected, but you also want to be sure that you aren’t making potentially catastrophic mistakes.
When it comes to the law, the main concerns are:
I don’t want to be sued.
I don’t want to have to sue other people (and what do I do if I do need to sue someone).
No one wants to be in a dicey legal situation ever. (Though I’m a lawyer and have lots of great lawyer friends, you want to avoid hiring us if at all possible!) That’s why I created this course. I’ve blogged and lawyered for years and I want you to be as educated as possible, so your blog and business are protected.
The law is vast but it doesn’t need to be overwhelming and scary. This course will take you through what you need to know, to finish, such as:
How to legally set up your blog/business,
What legal language you need on your site in order to keep it protected,
How to protect your original content,
The rules for working with brands and sponsored posts,
How to track your money and save on your taxes,
And a ton more!
If you’re ready to get serious about your blog and business and make sure it’s protected, Blog and Be Legal is just what you need.
Oh and did I mention Blog and Be Legal now comes in a LITE version?
If you’re a newbie and don’t need all the bells and whistles, but are still serious about keeping it legal, Blog and Be Legal Lite! is just what you need – the legal basics, without breaking the bank.

In my years of blogging, I’ve noticed that no one is talking about the legal side of things. We worry about images and sponsored posts and ads, but we tend to brush off the legal side of things. We think “I’m just a little blog, I’ve got nothing to worry about.”
Yes, the likelihood of getting sued or needing to sue someone is pretty low for bloggers (and for most people in general). But the best time to educate yourself on the legal side of things is before you encounter an issue. Before your get sued, before you need to send a cease and desist letter, before you realize you should’ve been filing your blog’s taxes for the last three years.
You get my point.
Just because no one is talking about the legal side of blogging doesn’t mean that it’s not important. That’s why I created this course. You get all the legal info you need to know today to avoid potential mistakes in the future. You have lifetime access to all the course videos and bonuses (plus any future updates to the course), so this priceless information will be at your fingertips anytime you need it.

I have really been enjoying the Blog and Be Legal Course. It is a great overview of setting up a business/blog legally as well as some of the finer details. The legal stuff can all get so overwhelming, but Jackie makes it easy to understand.
— Julianna, The Simplicity Habit
There’s tons of information in the world wide web about how to make money from a blog, yet very little about the legal and business side of it. You’ll definitely need to know this side of blogging if you want to get serious about it. Legal and business stuff may seem daunting or boring, but Jackie breaks it down in easy-to-understand terms. I learned so much, and about things I didn’t even consider, like rules for giveaways. I recommend this course to help you set the foundation to blog the right way.
— Sylvia, Mommy Over Work
Once business ed picking up I knew it was time to get serious with the legal aspects of my business I’d been avoiding. Once I ed booking bigger projects I knew I needed to protect myself, my business, and my family by getting everything in place. I contacted a local attorney… and going in, I was thinking it would be around $500-$700. But when she came back with the quote, my mind was a little blown. She estimated that everything would come to $1500. And that was with editing documents I already had created!
I definitely wish I would have heard about Jackie and all of her amazing offerings sooner. I know that working with her on any other legal issues that come up will be the best option for me and my business in the future.

The legal side of blogging is often a topic that you don’t think about, until something happens and it’s too late! On my local business’ website, I made the mistake of finding an image on Google to use as a photo on a blog post. Blogging wasn’t even a big part of that business, and the image was tiny! I never thought twice about using it.
Several years after it was published, I received a letter from Getty Images demanding $1,300 for using that little, tiny image! I did the best I could on my own, and ended up settling for half the requested amount.
I was out $650 AND I felt both silly for not knowing the legal side of blogging, and I felt I had been taken advantage of because of it. When something like this happens, hindsight is 20/20 and I can only wish I’d had the knowledge and know-how that Jackie provides in her course. With her guidance, I would have never been in this difficult situation in the first place, and I wouldn’t be out that costly settlement fee!
— Summer, Lady Boss League
Jackie is a phenomenal teacher. The law is so intimidating, but she makes it manageable with her in-depth coverage of each topic. She explains complicated legal terms in bite-size portions so even beginner business owners can understand. Plus, she is absolutely the sweetest and seamlessly finds ways to engage the audience even on the most difficult topics.

In my years of juggling my blog Jade and Oak with my full time day job, I’ve learned a thing or two about balancing blogging with my career. I’ve developed a system for success – both with my blog and with my life. In the last two years, I’ve managed my blog all while switching jobs, getting married, selling a house and buying a new house (within the same week!), vacationing and everything else. I also work as a social media manager on the side (yep – on top of my blog and my day job as an attorney!)
When I’m not blogging or lawyering, I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and our two pugs, Bowie and Rosie. I also attempt to be a DIY interior decorator, take adult ballet classes, read as much as I have time for and enjoy traveling when I get a free second too!
