• Identify barriers to a resident’s peaceful existence in a long term care setting.
• Discuss the role of the ancillary staff in providing a safe environment for their residents
• Understand the risks and benefits of pharmaceutical management of disruptive patient behaviors
• Lament the psychosocial and medical toll that the novel coronavirus pandemic has taken on long term care residents and staff.

The Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.
