The fear of death is one of the most major controlling factors preventing people from truly being able to live fully and authentically now.

The fear of death isn’t just the mind’s fantasy projecting about a potential future event, but it can be strongly influenced by the soul’s memory of particularly difficult and discordant past-life deaths.

These types of soul memories can actually influence every area of one’s present life, not just one’s thoughts and feelings about death.

Whatever the way a soul passed from a previous life — especially the more difficult or “charged” the transition — these memories can remain active in our current incarnation, blocking and restricting many or all areas of life.

For instance, a past-life death in which a particular organ of your body experienced damage, this same organ in your present body can have a related injury or weakness in this lifetime.

The trauma of certain type of death, the relationships involved, and the karmic causes of that type of death in the lifetime in which it occurred — all of these issues may still be strongly present in your subconscious karmic memory now, and may be blocking the full potential of your present-life expression in terms of full physical health, peace and balance of mind and emotions, issues of money, career, relationships, etc.

The death transition is one of the most energetically-charged times for a soul.  This time literally represents the transition from the physical to the non-physical.

But in some theories of karma, it also represents the end of the time period in which a soul can actually heal their karma.  Our incarnational process generally is the time in which we select karma to work on, then we work on it.  The death transition can mark the time when we take the karma we’ve resolved in a lifetime and the karma we’ve accumulated back into the non-physical realm, where we then work with our guides to plan our next lifetime.

However, when difficult karma occurs right at the time of physical death, it doesn’t give the soul any time to actually work through it in that incarnation.  That “bad death karma” can go immediately into the overall karmic story for the soul (the akashic field), where it can then influence and project-into other lifetimes in literal or symbolic ways.

This is never a punishment for something you did wrong.  Karma is never a punishment.  But the reliving of literal or symbolic representations of unresolved death karma gives your soul a chance to learn something, develop wisdom, and your learning contributes to the growing wisdom of the collective.

Some theories of karma, for instance, suggest that dying in one lifetime in a prairie fire might create a similar but more symbolic issue of allergies in another lifetime.  Or a lifetime in which a person died by drowning may give them lung challenges such as asthma in another lifetime.
