Hey Christelyn! The pink pill really helped me when it came to dating. I’d say that I let go of cultural barriers especially set by my mom that said that a 20-something daughter was too young to date, so I had boyfriends that she didn’t know about (how else would I figure out what I wanted?).

I also used some mercenary mate selection [a module in the original Pink Pill], and I not only dated out but I often dated three or more guys at the same time. Because I was in college in GA, I often dated other guys from college and service men my age that passed through ft. Benning.

James, my husband, is a computer nerd and he also happens to be the finest nerd having been in active duty for 4 years. James obviously comes from a background of staying fit, having developed those habits in service, and luckily for me, I picked up weight lifting in high school and never stopped. He always appreciates how athletic I am, especially when we both ran through the airport to catch our flight because we showed up too close for departure!

Oh, also from the “Classy” lecture, I got ideas on what to bring for Thanksgiving and how to approach meeting his mom, who loves me now. As far as our careers, I am a RN, and within the next year I’ll return to school for my masters in nursing as a women’s health nurse practitioner. James works in cyber security and has since the Army, and is on his second job since graduating college. Our combined household income is over $100,000 but because he works in Technology he makes much more than I. Within the year he’ll be making about $100,000 himself by way of work promotions.

He’s so supportive, and generous, and caring, and has learned to be more of a gentleman by being with me (thanks dad!) I’d like to add, that while I was dating, I used (and somewhat hoarded) condoms to keep by the bed, and it wasn’t until James and I talked about getting engaged (we were boyfriend/girlfriend for a year at this point) I switched to paragard IUD after we both got tested (I’d asked him to get STD tested before letting go of condoms). I’m so proud that I didn’t let any obstacles get in my way, even during our wedding ceremony, one of my brothers didn’t attend only because James is white. At the end of the month, James and I are moving to Virginia for his job (he works remote but will have to report to the office a few times a month) and I’ve interviews with local hospitals around where he’ll work.
