Carla King – How to Self-Edit & Work with a Human Editor
How to use electronic editors and work with line editors, copyeditors, book consultants, and proofreaders
Is your book ready to edit? Do you have questions about electronic editing programs? And when it’s time to send your manuscript to a human editor, what kind of editing do you need and how much should it cost?
Experts agree that self-publishers should spend the bulk of their budget on editing. Your book deserves great editing and so do your readers. Your book reviews, your reputation, your professionalism, all depend on great editing.
In this course, you’ll learn which combination of electronic editing tools can help you correct errors and identify cliches, overused words, complicated sentences and paragraphs, repeats, sentence length variations, diction, and many other aspects of your writing you may not be aware of.
I’ll show you how to use these tools to clean up your manuscript before sending it to a human editor.
You’ll learn what line or developmental editing is. Copyediting. Proofreading. You‘ll learn what to expect from an editor, how to hire and work with an editor, and how much the various levels of editing costs.
All this, and resources, too.
Make your book stand out from the millions of self-published books available today with great editing. You’ll be proud of your book and your readers will love it. Great editing is a great marketing decision, too. Keep those five-star reviews coming!
