Brian Kaufman, Merideth Norris – Busting the Myths Around Opioids and Chronic Pain Management

After the lecture:
• The learner will understand the appropriate goals of chronic pain management.
• The learner will understand the evidence supporting appropriate opiate prescribing for chronic pain.
• The learner will be able to differentiate and understand the interconnected relationship of chronic pain and OUD
• The learner will understand the unexpected consequences of the DCD guidelines on patients with substance use disorders and on patients with chronic pain.

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.
