Brent Dixon – Osteopathic Approach to Shoulder Enthesopathies

Learning Objectives:

1. Define the various should enthesopathies including rotator cuff tendinopathy, bicipital tendinopathy, shoulder bursitis, should impingement, glenoid labral tears, and adhesive capsulitis.
2. Explain the pathophysiology including the etiology epidemiology and the risk factors of the various shoulder enthesopathies.
3. Discuss the clinical manifestations and the physical examination finding of the various should enthesopathies.
4. Describe and administer the osteopathic manipulative treatment approach to the management of should enthesopathies and discuss the treatment goals of the various types of techniques.
5. Identifying measures to prevent occurrence and recurrence of should enthesopathies.

Accreditation Statements:
The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of .75 AOA Category 1-A Credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.
