4 MYTHS THAT KEEP YOU FROM TRAINING
LIKE A BADASS
Myth 1:
“This stuff is just for guys. I don’t think I’m strong enough..”
Literally the biggest myth ever when it comes to handstands! Although it’s great if you have some good upper body and core strength to begin with, you’re not doomed if you don’t!
A good handstand is a combination of strength, mobility and the most important of all – good technique! If you don’t have much strength, I have great news for you – the better your technique, the less amount of muscles you need to hold a comfortable handstand.
Oh and by the way – my community consists of more than 10,000 people and most of them are WOMEN (and they’re absolute badasses). Look at Molly:
Myth 2 :
“I’m too old to learn handstands..”
Nope, I won’t let you use that as an excuse. Handstands are for ANY AGE! Look at Danielle over there who is 66 (!!) and smashing it.
And she’s not the only one, I have so many 50+ year-old men and women learning cool stuff like handstands.
Myth 3 :
“I’ve never done gymnastics or anything like that, I can’t learn the skill..”
You might be pleasantly surprised that I didn’t either. I have started learning handstands just a few years ago (I’m 27 years old now) with zero gymnastics background. You can always learn new things. Progress over perfection, you guys!
Maybe you won’t be doing one arm handstands anytime soon, but having a stable two arm handstand? Yup, definitely doable!
Myth 4 :
“I have been trying to do handstands, but I’m not getting any better. I think I’m just not cut out for this..”
It literally physically pains me when people say something like this because it cannot be further away from the truth!
